A DIY flashlight which children 8+ can assemble and use themselves. Launched on Kickstarter by Ambessa Play the DIY flashlight has been co-designed by Pentagram studio with kids. With 10 separate components and 16 build steps, the kit turns learning about kinetic energy and electronic components into a hands-on adventure. The design is battery-free and uses a dynamo to charge a capacitor which powers the LED lamp for around 15 minutes. Ambessa Play is the British social enterprise born to spark creativity and imagination for children everywhere, that designs educational kits with a one for one model: for every kit purchased, a refugee child out of school receives one for free.
