“In my professional life I have often come across environmental issues; and over the years it has become increasingly clear to me that social responsibility is an indispensable part of the theme of the quality and construction of value through design. With this context of reference, and encouraged by what designer colleagues and friends brought to me from other countries, I recently decided to investigate in greater depth something that is apparently a partial factor of the quality of objects: their repairability. I wanted to understand to what extent this aspect could have an impact on the construction of the identity of a design product.

In 2013 the question I was asking myself became the title of a study, R-RIPARABILE?, conducted starting with a network of professionals with whom I am in constant contact on an international level, which was then extended thanks to an international call for entry in 2014. Alongside lectures in design schools, participation in sector conferences, the organization of one-day study programs on repairability, in 2015 I decided, with my studio Fragile, to create a website through which to foster a new sensibility. So R-RIPARABILE? was created to share a question for which many people, in the world of business, design and research, are trying to provide an answer.”
