Samsung first launched the Self-Repair program in the United States in 2022, collaborating with major parts distributors. It has extended the program in Europe in 2023, to allow users of Samsung’s most popular models to replace into their own hands the screen with battery included, or fixing the cracked back glass and the charging port of the smartphone by themselves. A program that for Galaxi Book Pro models provides access to as many as seven different original components to carry out maintenance and repairs independently. The program also provides for returning used parts to Samsung to be recycled responsibly, and being able users to purchase a dedicated repair toolkit, developed in the United States with Californian-based iFixit, the DIY 2.0 company which specializes in creating free step-by-step repair guides implemented by network users.
